It was the ancient Roman Cicero who first developed the phrase, “A man’s home is his castle”, although not so simplistically stated. Now over two thousand years later, Cicero’s philosophy has become a proverb in the modern world. Thought enticed, one can understand the amount of safety held in one’s home. Each wall built like a standing monument in the safekeeping of a privatized and personalized living; the fortification of an individual’s existence. At home, a person is free to express their truest of intentions and explore that part of themselves that they keep closed up around the outside world. Under this banner of philosophy, it could be said that a man’s motorhome is his itinerant castle.
There was a time when motorhomes were merely an exaggerated luxury for the more financially stable set of person. Today, motorhomes can still stand for a status symbol, but it is a more viable option for frequent vacationing families, camping connoisseurs, and let’s not forget the retired community. In each of these walks of life, like Cicero’s man, the notion of the motorhome is that of a travelling stronghold to kick up your feet and enjoy the way of the road while keeping yourself comfortable and at home.
